IPL 2024 – Match 14, MI vs RR: Sanju Samson to Jos Buttler? Rajasthan Royals Probable Playing 11 vs Mumbai Indians

Jos Buttler has scored 22 runs in two matches with a strike rate of 88.

The fourteenth game of IPL 2024 will observe Rajasthan Royals taking on the Mumbai Indians who will be hosting their first match of the season at the iconic venue Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 1st April, Monday.

Yashasvi Jaiswal after coming off an all-time great test series against England where he showed how good a hitter, he is of spin bowling and junk pace, has had a quiet start to this IPL season which is something he would want to be as far as him, because of the T20 World Cup approaching and the IPL being the litmus test for the selection of it.

With him will be the dasher in Jos Buttler who is himself going through a lean patch where he run scoring and his destructive gameplay has alluded him for a while which are signs of worry for the franchise.

If Rajasthan has to compete at Mumbai’s home they will want their opening combination to be at their best.

Sanju Samson who starts to taper off by the 3rd game into an IPL season, will be required to bring his backfoot play into action which will help Rajasthan in countering the bouncy conditions in Mumbai.

Riyan Parag has now started to show how good he can be across different conditions and situations, he is perfectly fine in being an anchor or a hitter as per his team needs which brings vertically to the Rajasthan lineup.

Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel make this already dangerous batting order a dynamic one because of their skill sets which gives the bowlers no hiding. Jurel as seen in the brief camoes he has played across the two seasons seems a wonderful player of fast bowling and Hetmyer is someone who uses his fast wrists and great hand-eye coordination in smashing the spinners of their length.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal make up the skin duo for the team which makes it difficult for the opposition batters to attack them because of the different trajectories, lengths and speeds at which they operate.

Trent Boult has taken care of the new cherry along with him there is Sandeep Sharma who has redeveloped himself into a middle and death over specialist after coming in and an injury replacement to Prasidh Krishna which has to be a commendable job given his lack of pace, Avesh Khan in the last match provided a death bowling master class which declined Delhi a win where he nailed almost every yorker he aimed in his last over.

Nandre Burger/Rovman Powell is expected to be their impact player.
