IPL 2024 – Match 16, DC vs KKR: Rishabh Pant to drop Anrich Nortje? Delhi Capitals Probable Playing 11 vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Anrich Nortje is getting expensive for Delhi Capitals to include in playing 11

The 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to be played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Delhi’s tentative home ground which is Dr. Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium located in Vizag on April 23, Wednesday.

With the return of Prithvi Shaw, Delhi have now their powerplay muddle solved where they will have two of the most destructive powerplay hitters of the league especially Shaw who starts off very quickly and Warner who complements him by both hand and his ability to manage express pace.

Mitchell Marsh at three and Rishabh Pant at 4 makes this middle order a dynamic, where they could make any captain search for options if both of them come to their own. Pant takes care of all the slow stuff dished out at them whereas Marsh who’s now back at three takes care of all the quicks who operate in the middle overs which makes it practically impossible for the bowling team to make plans.

Tristan Stubbs who replaced Harry Brook in the middle order had had middling returns so far, and with him there is Abhishek Porwal who lit up everyone’s imagination about him in Delhi’s opening encounter against Punjab in Mullanpur.

Both of them will need to fire which will help Delhi Capitals in the closing stages of their innings, Stubbs has shown enough occasions of his brilliance in the little cameos he has played over the years but by nailing the number 5 spot here, he’ll take his game to the next level.

Kuldeep Yadav had a niggle, which contributed in his ommision from the playing XI against Chennai, but he’s now expected to back for the game on Wednesday. With him there is Axar Patel who complements him and provides the much needed batting depth to the side.

Anrich Nortje is now back from his injury who will form the Delhi pace attack with Khalee Ahmed who provides the left arm variety to the attack with the Veteran in Ishant Sharma who will take up the new ball.

Mukesh Kumar in the last match showed his excellent defensive skills in containing the batters who is now expected to be the Impact player of Delhi Capitals.
