IPL 2024 – Match 21, LSG vs GT: Shubman Gill to Drop Vijay Shankar? Gujarat Titans Probable Playing 11 vs Lucknow Super Giants
Vijay Shankar's form is now a topic of concern for Gujarat.
The 21st match of IPL 2024 is to be played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on 7th April, Sunday
GT is coming off a loss against PBKS whereas LSG has won two consecutive matches after losing their first match.
GT has won 2 matches so far out of 4 matches, their first win came against MI and then the second win against SRH.
Miller is Unlikely to be Back:
David Miller who missed the last match against PBKS due to a niggle is not expected to be back for this match as well.
Kane Williamson who replaced Miller in the previous match, said that Miller won’t be available for a week or two.
GT will need Kane to step up in Miller’s absence and play impactful knocks for the team.
Vijay Shankar could be Dropped:
Shankar hasn’t hit the form for GT this season and GT has not trusted him with the ball, he could be dropped from the team and might be replaced by Abhinav Manohar.
In the absence of Miller GT will surely need a power hitter in the team and Abhinav can be that batter considering that his strike rate is 140 in IPL which is similar to Miller.
Rashid Khan Struggling with His Form
Rashid Khan who has been the main bowler for GT since 2022 has struggled this season with his form and his economy rate is much higher compared to the last two seasons.
Although Rashid’s spin twin Noor Ahmed has looked in good touch with the ball, GT had started the season with Spencer Johnson but they have replaced him with Noor in the XI who has been quite economical for GT.
Gujarat Titans Probable XI vs Lucknow Super Giants
Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill (c), Sai Sudharsan, Kane Williamson, Abhinav Manohar, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Umesh Yadav, Darshan Nalkande
