IPL 2024 – Match 38, RR vs MI: Hardik Pandya to drop Mohammad Nabi? Mumbai Indians Probable Playing 11 vs Rajasthan Royals
Mohammad Nabi's didn't get enough opportunities to bat & bowl in the tournament so far.
The 38th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will see the clash of Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking on the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on 22 April, Monday.
Ishan Kishan has been in exceptional hitting form this season; in almost every match, he has been successful in providing his team with quick starts.
While his veteran partner Rohit Sharma starts at the same tempo, after the Powerplay ends, he often slows down, which impacts the run-scoring rate of his side. If he can improve himself on this aspect, there is no stopping him.
Suryakumar Yadav & Tilak Varma: Middle Order Maestros
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma will occupy the following two spots. Yadav, with his excellent game against quick bowling, will shield Varma from them, while Varma, being a southpaw, will save Yadav from the slow left-arm spin of Keshav Maharaj.
Tim David is another spin hitter they have in their ranks who may come in if one of them departs. With him will be Hardik Pandya, who is surely going through a lean patch as he has lost his hitting skills against pacers.
The middle order of Mumbai Indians has its issues against pace bowling, which can be used by Rajasthan Royals to pose problems for them.
Mohammad Nabi and Shreyas Gopal: The All-Round Prowess
Mohammad Nabi and Shreyas Gopal will be a lot more useful on the slower deck of Jaipur, where it will grip and turn. Both of them are able batters too, which will give some sort of batting cushion to Mumbai.
Jasprit Bumrah has returned with supernatural figures so far this season. He has taken the most number of wickets while maintaining an economy of less than 6, which has ensured the bowlers around him have some cushion to bowl with.
One such bowler is Gerald Coetzee, who has attacked with his aggressive hit-the-deck bowling, complementing Bumrah really well.
Nuwan Thushara may make his debut in place of Romario Shepherd, who leaked runs and has failed to provide any real threat to the opposition batters. Thushara, with his sling action and wonderful form, may help his side.
Mumbai Indians Probable Playing 11 vs Rajasthan Royals:
Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (C), Tim David, Mohammad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Romario Shepherd/Nuwan Thushara, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal
