LSG coach Justin Langer dropped hint of Mayank Yadav's comeback in the previous match during a conversation with media.

The match number 39 of IPL 2024 will be played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on 23rd April, Tuesday.

Both teams have played 7 matches so far and they have 4 wins, Chennai Super Kings is ahead of Lucknow Super Giants in the points due to their better net run rate.

In their last fixture, LSG beat CSK by 8 wickets in Lucknow. LSG Skipper Rahul scored 82 runs in the run chase of 177.

Pace sensation Mayank Yadav is unlikely to make his return to the LSG team for the clash against CSK. Before his injury, he was the player of the match for two consecutive matches for LSG.

In the absence of Mayank, LSG have given chances to Arshad Khan, Shamar Joseph, and Matt Henry. None of them have been impressive.

Kyle Mayers, who became the first-choice opener of LSG last season, is currently waiting to get a game this season. He can be the number 3 batter for LSG and can replace Marcus Stoinis in the XI.

Matt Henry is likely to keep his place in the XI despite going wicketless against CSK in the last match, as his line and lengths were far better than Shamar Joseph.

KL Rahul is Back in Form and He is Hitting the Ball Really Well:

LSG’s skipper KL Rahul was consistently told for his strike rate and approach in the first few matches of this season, but now he has tried to improve it and be the aggressive opener for his team.

Rahul’s strike rate is 143 currently, which is the second-best for his team. Pooran has a strike rate of 164, which is the highest for LSG this season.
