IPL 2024: Mohammed Shami Faces ‘Unfair’ Approach from Franchisee; Gujarat Titans CEO Voices Concerns

Gujarat Titans CEO also opened up on Hardik Pandya’s trade to Mumbai Indians

Following Hardik Pandya’s trade to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans, there are reports that another franchise is expressing interest in Gujarat Titans’ player Mohammed Shami, just ahead of the upcoming IPL 2024 auction scheduled for December 19 in Dubai.

However, rather than negotiating the trade, that franchise opted to contract the coaching staff and management of Gujarat Titans – a move that didn’t sit well with Gujarat Titans’ CEO Colonel Arvinder Singh, emphasising the significance of following BCCI’s rules and regulations.

Here’s what Gujarat Titans CEO Arvinder Singh told News18:

“I think it’s wrong to contact players directly for IPL trade. Teams should follow the procedure set by the BCCI for it.”

The CEO also commented on Hardik Pandya’s decision to leave the franchise, stating they respect his decision.

Meanwhile, Arvinder Singh also confirmed that Mohammed Shami is set to stay with Gujarat Titans for the IPL 2024 season.

Notably, Shami looked in a great touch lately as he ended the ODI World Cup 2023 as the highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in just seven matches.
