IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians To Sack Hardik Pandya? Team Unhappy With Captaincy

Mumbai Indians senior players aren’t happy with Hardik Pandya’s captaincy.

Nothing has gone right for the new captain of Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, this season ever since the start of IPL 2024. Now, with Mumbai Indians officially out of the playoffs race and eliminated from the tournament, some interesting reports are emerging.

As per a recent report from the Indian Express, there is a sense of unease in the Mumbai Indians team, with the usual buzz missing from the dressing room. Senior players are holding Hardik Pandya accountable for this lack of energy.

According to the report, senior players are unhappy with Hardik Pandya‘s captaincy approach and had a conversation with the management. The situation worsened when Pandya publicly blamed Tilak Varma for their loss against Delhi Capitals, leading to a negative atmosphere in the dressing room.

Additionally, there were reports of a serious exchange between Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya in the dressing room. Rohit Sharma had to intervene to calm things down.

Besides his captaincy struggles, Hardik Pandya has also underperformed as an all-rounder, failing to score even 200 runs in the tournament and without a single half-century. His bowling has also been below par compared to his usual standards.

Here it is worth mentioning that Hardik Pandya was named captain of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024, replacing the five-time title-winning captain Rohit Sharma, a move that has angered many fans.
