Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dealt a blow as Will Jacks and Reece Topley left for England to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024. This couldn’t have happened at a more crucial moment for RCB, who have surged with five straight wins to make a push for the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler has also returned to England and will miss IPL 2024 playoffs. Looking ahead, there’s a strong chance that Kolkata Knight Riders’ Philip Salt and PBKS all-rounder Sam Curran, along with Chennai Super Kings’ Moeen Ali, will also depart for England ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
The mass exit of overseas players adds pressure on IPL franchises that were counting on their star players for the playoffs. RCB, especially, will have to figure out how to cope with Jacks’ absence and modify their tactics for the crucial knockout rounds.
