‘IPL 2024 Will Not Move To UAE’ – Jay Shah Confirms

There were reports that the second half of IPL 2024 will move out of India due to general elections.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, confirmed in an interview that the IPL will stay in India and will not be moved to the UAE due to general elections, contrary to the spreading reports.

The general election dates were announced on Saturday. Following the announcement, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated in an interview that the IPL would not be shifted.

“No, it won’t be moved overseas,” Shah told Cricbuzz on Saturday.

The elections will be held from April 19 to June 4. The IPL 2024 is set to start from March 22 with a match in Chennai between MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. So far, the dates for the first two weeks have been announced.
