Anrich Nortje and Quinton de Kock have joined KKR’s pre-season camp in Kolkata, while four more players will arrive later.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will begin their pre-season camp in Kolkata on March 12 (Wednesday). Most of their players will join the camp by March 13 (Thursday).

KKR Gears Up for IPL 2025

KKR, the defending IPL champions, will play their first match on March 22 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Before that, the team is preparing with a training camp in Kolkata.

Last month, the Knight Riders had a short training camp in Mumbai. Players like Rinku Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, and Manish Pandey took part in that camp. Their new captain, Ajinkya Rahane, also joined for a few days.

Now, the team is gathering in Kolkata. Players have started arriving from Monday (March 11). Ramandeep Singh reached on Monday evening. The rest of the squad and support staff will be there by Thursday (March 13). South African players Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje landed in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Four Players Will Arrive Late

Not all players will join immediately. Four KKR players will arrive later, just 4-5 days before the IPL begins. These players were part of the Champions Trophy 2025.

The four players are:

  • Harshit Rana (India)
  • Varun Chakravarthy (India)
  • Spencer Johnson (Australia)
  • Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Afghanistan)

Varun Chakravarthy had a great tournament. He took 9 wickets in just 3 matches, helping India win the title. Harshit Rana played two matches and picked up 4 wickets.

Spencer Johnson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, however, had a tough time. Johnson managed only 2 wickets for Australia, while Gurbaz had a poor run, scoring just 16 runs in the tournament.
