IPL 2025: Big Boost for LSG! Avesh Khan Declared Fit for SRH Match
LSG’s bowling attack gets a boost as Avesh Khan regains fitness and is set to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) suffered a tough one-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first IPL 2025 match on March 24 in Visakhapatnam. Injuries have made things difficult for them, with many key bowlers ruled out of the tournament. However, LSG has received some good news ahead of their next match.
Avesh Khan Cleared to Play
Fast bowler Avesh Khan has been declared fit by the BCCI and is now available for IPL 2025. He had been dealing with a right knee injury and was undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. After passing his final fitness test on Monday, he has been cleared to rejoin the LSG squad.
Avesh last played in January and missed Madhya Pradesh’s final Ranji Trophy league match due to discomfort in his knee. His last appearance for India was in November 2024 during a T20I in South Africa. His injury was linked to the heavy workload he managed during the domestic season.
When Will Avesh Join the Team?
It is not confirmed when Avesh will officially link up with the LSG squad. However, he is expected to be available for selection in their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 27 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. LSG will hope his return strengthens their bowling attack after their narrow defeat to DC.
LSG’s Injury Woes
LSG has been struggling with injuries to their main Indian fast bowlers. Mayank Yadav is recovering from a lumbar stress injury and also suffered a toe injury recently. Akash Deep, who picked up a back injury during India’s Test tour of Australia, is still not fully fit. Mohsin Khan has already been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an ACL tear. LSG replaced him with Shardul Thakur just before their first match.
With Avesh Khan back, LSG will be hoping for a better performance against SRH. His experience and pace will provide much-needed support to their bowling attack in their second away game of the season.
