IPL 2025: “Cricket Has Changed!” – KL Rahul Shares His Aggressive New T20 Mantra

KL Rahul says T20 cricket has changed and now it's all about hitting boundaries and playing aggressive.

KL Rahul, who plays for Delhi Capitals, has changed the way he plays T20 cricket. After his brilliant knock against Chennai Super Kings, he shared how much he has worked on his white-ball game. He said T20 cricket is no longer about playing slow. It is all about hitting boundaries now.

In the last match, Rahul scored 77 runs in just 51 balls. His innings helped Delhi Capitals reach a strong total. He was also named Player of the Match for his performance.

After the match, KL Rahul had a chat with Delhi’s mentor Kevin Pietersen. Rahul said that he has worked hard with Abhishek Nayar, who is now part of the Indian team coaching staff. Rahul and Nayar spent many hours in Mumbai working on improving his batting in white-ball cricket.

Rahul shared that he had stopped enjoying T20 cricket earlier. He tried to play safe and take the game deep. But now he wants to be more aggressive. He said that in today’s T20 cricket, the team that hits more boundaries and sixes wins the match.

“I lost the fun of hitting boundaries and sixes,” said Rahul. “Now I understand that I need to change. Cricket has changed. T20 is only about hitting big shots. I just want to see the ball and hit it. I don’t think too much now. I try to put pressure on the bowlers and enjoy my batting.”

This new mindset has helped Rahul regain his form. He is once again playing with confidence and freedom. He is also trying to make a comeback into Team India’s T20 side.

Rahul’s next match will be against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 10. It will be a big game for him as he will face his old team at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The local boy will try to continue his good form and help Delhi Capitals win again.
