The 40th match of IPL 2025 will be played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. DC have been one of the strongest sides in the tournament so far, winning 5 out of their 7 matches. LSG, on the other hand, are still very much in the playoff race.

One big question before the match is — Will Mayank Yadav finally play today?
The young speedster was part of the impact subs list in the previous game, which means he was available as a substitute but didn’t get a chance to take the field. He had earlier missed the first half of the season due to a back injury.
He was also in the squad against Rajasthan Royals but wasn’t used to bowl. However, things look more hopeful this time. In the latest update, LSG all-rounder Yuvraj Chaudhary confirmed that Mayank Yadav is now fully fit and ready for action.
The final decision will be taken by captain Rishabh Pant and head coach Justin Langer just before the toss.
Who Could Be Dropped If Mayank Plays?
If Mayank is added to the playing XI, LSG may have to drop someone to make space. Most likely, Akashdeep could be dropped to accommodate Mayank Yadav. Akashdeep failed to make an impact with the ball in the limited chances he got.
