Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs in a high-scoring thriller at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Batting first, LSG posted a huge total of 203/8 in 20 overs.
Mitchell Marsh smashed 60 off just 31 balls, while Aiden Markram added 53 from 38 balls. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for MI, grabbing a five-wicket haul (5/36), becoming the first captain to do so in IPL history.
Chasing 204, Mumbai Indians looked in control at one point with Suryakumar Yadav scoring a brilliant 67 off 43 balls and Naman Dhir contributing 46 from 24 deliveries.
However, things changed when Tilak Varma retired out after a slow knock of 25 from 23 balls, which broke the momentum. Despite Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 28, MI could only manage 191/5 in their 20 overs.
With this win, LSG pulled off an exciting victory and added two important points to their tally.
