Mumbai Indians Bought Ghazanfar for Rs 4.8 Crore
Mumbai Indians picked Allah Ghazanfar in the IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 4.8 crore. The 18-year-old was earlier with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024. He joined KKR as a replacement for Mujeeb Ur Rahman but did not get a chance to play.
Even though he has not played an IPL match, Ghazanfar has already shown his skills in international cricket. However, he will now miss the IPL 2025 season due to injury.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman Joins Mumbai Indians for Rs 2 Crore
On Sunday, February 16, the IPL issued a statement confirming Mujeeb Ur Rahman as Ghazanfar’s replacement. Mujeeb, a right-arm off-spinner, has played 19 IPL matches so far. He has taken 19 wickets in those games. Mumbai Indians have signed him for Rs 2 crore.
Mujeeb recently played in the SA20 league for Paarl Royals. He was their top wicket-taker, with 14 wickets in 12 matches. His economy rate was 6.7, showing how well he bowled on slow pitches.
It will be interesting to see how he performs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The pitch there is different from the slow surfaces he played on in SA20. Fans will be eager to watch him in action for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025.
