IPL Imposed 12 Lakh Penalty On Shubman Gill
Gujarat Titans' captain, Shubman Gill, has been fined 12 lakh rupees by the IPL.
A penalty of 12 lakh rupees has been imposed on Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans (GT), for the team’s slow over-rate in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday, March 26 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Following the conclusion of the match, the IPL issued an official statement addressing the apparent slow over-rate of the Gujarat Titans, stating that their newly appointed captain, Shubman Gill, would face a fine.
“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Gill was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” an official IPL statement read.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings continued their winning streak in IPL 2024, overpowering Gujarat Titans by 63 runs.
