Jay Shah to Discuss Future with Rahul Dravid as India’s Head Coach After South Africa Tour
Rahul Dravid’s tenure as India’s head coach came to an end after World Cup 2023.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that they will engage in discussions with Rahul Dravid regarding the extension of his tenure as Team India‘s coach post the South Africa tour.
Dravid’s association with the national team came to an end after the 2023 World Cup, and despite initial reports of disinterest in continuing, the BCCI appears to have retained the 50-year-old for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
Here’s what Jay Shah said, as quoted by Cricbuzz:
“We did not have time. We met with them and mutually agreed that he can continue. Once they return from South Africa, we will sit with him and decide on the tenure. The tournament (T20 World Cup) starts in June. There’s the IPL before that and the series against Afghanistan. We will take a good decision.”
Rahul Dravid has reportedly been receiving offers from IPL franchises for a mentor role.
