New Zealand batter Kane Williamson went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, he is now set to return to the tournament as a commentator and cricket expert.
At the same time, Williamson had registered for the PSL 2025 draft and was picked by Karachi Kings. But with reports suggesting that he will be a part of the IPL 2025 commentary panel, it looks like he might miss the Pakistan Super League.
Another Blow to PSL 2025?
If Williamson skips PSL 2025, it will be another setback for the tournament. Earlier, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch was ruled out of PSL 2025 after Mumbai Indians signed him as an injury replacement. Losing two international players could impact the league’s quality and fan engagement.
IPL 2025 Commentary Panel Announced
The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is set to begin on March 22 with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Ahead of the season opener, Star Sports, the official broadcaster, has announced the list of commentators and presenters for the tournament.
IPL 2025 will take place across 13 venues from March 22 to May 25. A total of 74 matches, including playoffs, will be played over eight weeks. The Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the season as defending champions. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will compete to win their sixth IPL title.
