KKR vs RCB: Sunil Narine Joins Chris Gayle in Elite Six-Hitting Club After Destroying RCB in IPL 2025 Opener

Sunil Narine hit his 100th IPL six, joining Russell and Rana in KKR’s elite club during a match against RCB, scoring 44 off 26 balls.

Sunil Narine became the latest Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player to hit 100 sixes in the IPL, joining teammates Andre Russell and Nitish Rana. He reached the milestone during KKR’s match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), where he scored 44 off 26 balls, smashing five fours and three sixes.

Narine was IPL 2024’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and KKR’s top run-scorer, which led to his retention before the IPL 2025 mega auction. In this match, he played a key role in a 103-run partnership for the second wicket with Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane led from the front, scoring 56 off 31 balls and reaching his fifty in just 25 deliveries. However, Krunal Pandya dismissed him in the 11th over. Earlier, KKR had a shaky start with Quinton de Kock falling for just four runs.

Rahane also created history by becoming the first Indian to captain three different IPL teams, having previously led Rising Pune Super Giants in 2017 and Rajasthan Royals in 2018-19.
