‘Laanat Hai’ – Harbhajan Singh Slams Kamran Akmal for Racist Comments Against Arshdeep During IND vs PAK Match

Kamran Akmal made racist remarks on Arshdeep Singh during IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2024 clash.

Kamran Akmal, former Pakistan cricketer, has ignited controversy for his distasteful remarks targeting Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh during the T20 World Cup 2024 match against India.

Kamran Akmal, part of the ARY News cricket panel discussing the nail-biting encounter, made the discriminatory comment after Arshdeep successfully defended 18 runs in the final over, securing a thrilling six-run victory for India.

“Kuch bhi ho sakta hai… 12 baj gaye hai (Anything can happen. It is already 12),” Akmal said, insinuating a connection between Arshdeep’s Sikh religion and the time of the match.

“Kisi Sikh ko nahi dena chahiye 12 baje over (No Sikh should be given the over at 12 midnight),” another panelist chimed in, prompting laughter from Akmal.

The remarks sparked outrage on social media, with users condemning Akmal for his bigotry. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh took a strong stance against Kamran Akmal’s prejudice.

“Lakh di laanat tere Kamraan Akhmal.. You should know the history of Sikhs before u open ur filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved ur mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock . Shame on you…Have some Gratitude,” Singh posted on X (formerly Twitter).
