LPL 2020: Lanka Premier League once again postponed, will now start from November 21
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday postponed the first Lanka Premier League (LPL) till 21 November in a bid to ensure that the players participating in the tournament have enough time to meet the Sri Lankan government's quarantine protocols.

It Will Now Start on November 21
The T20 tournament was scheduled to begin on November 14 as per the predetermined schedule but now after the changes, it will start from November 21. The draft of the players to be held on October 1 will also be on October 9.
“Since the IPL (Indian Premier League) will go until the 10th of November, we thought to keep some space for the players taking part in the IPL, and who wish to make it to the LPL to take part in the tournament,” LPL’s Tournament Director Ravin Wickramaratne said in a statement.
Initially, it Was to be Held From 28 August
The ongoing IPL final in the UAE will take place on 10 November. Top players from Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies and Afghanistan are playing in this league. This is the second time LPL’s program has been changed. Initially, it was scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 20 but was postponed due to Coronavirus epidemic.
23 Matches Will be Played Between 5 Teams
The tournament is to be played at three international venues in Sri Lanka, Ratnagiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, Pallekal International Cricket Stadium and Suriaweva Mahinda Suriyawewa Mahinda Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium.
In this 15-day tournament, 23 matches will be played between five teams. Five teams are named after Colombo, Kandy, Gaul, Dambulla and Jaffna district.
