LSG vs CSK: Why R Ashwin Is Not Playing Today’s IPL 2025 Match?

R Ashwin dropped from LSG vs CSK match of IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings have made some bold decisions ahead of their clash with Lucknow Super Giants in Match 30 of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

MS Dhoni, the CSK captain, won the toss and chose to field first. While revealing the team, he mentioned that two experienced players — Devon Conway and Ravichandran Ashwin — have been left out of the playing XI.

The reason behind these changes appears to be their poor form. Devon Conway, who usually opens the innings, has not given CSK strong starts this season. He has struggled to score runs and build momentum at the top.

Ravichandran Ashwin has also been off-colour with the ball. The senior spinner has failed to contain runs and hasn’t taken many wickets either, which has affected CSK’s middle-over bowling control.

As the tournament progresses, CSK seems to be making changes in search of better results. The team is likely exploring new options to strengthen their performance going forward.
