‘Manmohan Singh Was There…’- Gautam Gambhir Slams Rahul Gandhi for ‘Panauti’ Remark Directed At Narendra Modi
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was called ‘panauti’ by Rahul Gandhi after India lost the World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad.
Former Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir, responded to the ‘panauti’ remark directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Rahul Gandhi following India’s six-wicket loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
Gambhir stated that the comment made on the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi was unjustified, highlighting the 2011 World Cup semi-final scenario where the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh watched India vs Pakistan in Mohali.
Here’s what Gautam Gambhir said in an interview with ANI:
“The word that was used, ‘panauti’, is probably the worst word that could’ve been used against anyone, particularly a prime minister of this country. In the 2011 Cricket World Cup semi-final, Dr. Manmohan Singh was there. Had we lost that match and he had come to meet us, what would’ve been wrong in that?.”
