New Zealand Topped ICC World Test Ranking For The First Time
New Zealand team topped the ICC rankings defeating Pakistan in the first test.
New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 101 runs in the first test of the two-match series played at Mount Mongui. By the end of the fourth day, Pakistan had scored 71 runs losing 3 wickets in 38 overs.
On the final day of the first test, Pakistan needed 302 runs to win, but the team was all out after scoring 271 runs in 123.3 overs.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson adjudged man of the match. With this victory, the Kiwi team has moved to number-1, replacing Australia in the ICC Test rankings for the first time. This is New Zealand’s 5th consecutive win in Tests.
With this win over Pakistan, the New Zealand team topped the ICC rankings charts. At the same time, the Australian team is slipped to second and the Indian team is in third place. With this victory, the Kiwi team took an unassailable 1-0 lead in the 2-match Test series against Pakistan. The next match of the series will be played from 3 January to 7 January in Christchurch.
