Out or Not Out? Internet Divided Over Sanju Samson’s Dismissal in DC vs RR Clash

Internet got divided on Sanju Samson’s dismissal.

The Delhi Capitals vs Rajasthan Royals match in IPL 2024 was surrounded by controversy regarding the dismissal of Sanju Samson. Chasing a target of 222, Samson was batting brilliantly on 86 runs when he was caught by Shai Hope off Mukesh Kumar’s delivery.

The drama unfolded as Hope, while taking the catch near the boundary line, seemed to have his foot touching the rope. The on-field umpire referred the decision to the third umpire, who reviewed the replays and ruled it a clean catch.

The replays left no doubt, although the on-air commentators speculated that Shai Hope’s right foot might have touched the boundary rope. However, the decision was made, and Samson was announced out on the big screen.

The Rajasthan Royals skipper was visibly unhappy with the decision as he approached the on-field umpires to see if he can review it. Unfortunately, his request was denied as the time to opt for review was already over, leaving Samson dejected.

The internet was split on this decision, with some believing it was correct, while others claim that Shai Hope’s foot touched the boundary, resulting in Sanju Samson being incorrectly given out.
