Pakistan Announce Squads For England And West Indies Tours

The Pakistan selectors have reviewed a couple of experienced heads for the impending tours, with a few uncapped players in the squad.

Pakistan, on Friday have announced their squads for their forthcoming tours against England and West Indies. The Babar Azam-led outfit will tour England for three ODIs and as many T20Is from July 8-20, before flying to the Caribbean for 5 T20Is and 2 Tests, the tour concluding at the end of August.

Talking about squad, middle-order batsman Haris Sohail has been named in the ODI side, while Imad Wasim has returned to bolster the T20I side.

Fast bowlers Mohammad Abbas and Naseem Shah have returned to the Test side. Yasir Shah’s inclusion is subject to fitness as the wrist spinner is yet to fully recover from the knee injury that sidelined him from the Zimbabwe Tests.

The selectors have also retained leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood along with left-arm spinner Nauman Ali and off-spinner Sajid Khan for the Jamaica Tests.

Son of former Pakistan wicket-keeper Moeen Ali, Azam Khan, who shinned for Quetta Gladiators in PSL has been included in the T20I side for the first time.

Meanwhile, the explosive left-hander Fakhar Zaman has been retained in the T20I squad after being added as an additional player for the Zimbabwe T20Is. Saud Shakeel also has continued to be in the ODI squad despite missing the South Africa ODIs due to injury. Salman Agha has been called up to the ODI squad after losing his place in Tests.
