Pakistan Pacer Claims PSL Will Beat IPL in Viewership

Hasan Ali has made a bold statement ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025.

Hasan Ali, the fast bowler from Karachi Kings, has made a strong statement ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Speaking to reporters during a practice session, Hasan said that fans will prefer watching PSL over the Indian Premier League (IPL) if the players perform well and deliver entertaining cricket.

According to Hasan, “Fans watch the tournament where there’s good cricket with entertainment. If we play well in the PSL, viewers will leave the IPL to watch us.”

Karachi Kings will begin their PSL 2025 journey at home, playing against Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan Sultans. This season, the team will be led by former Australian captain David Warner. Karachi Kings had a tough time in the previous edition, finishing at the bottom of the table with just four points. They lost six out of their ten matches.

Hasan Ali will also have a personal target in this season. He is very close to becoming the highest wicket-taker in PSL history. The current record is held by Wahab Riaz, who has taken 113 wickets in 88 matches. Hasan has taken 108 wickets in 82 games and needs only four more to break the record. His bowling average is 22.96, and he has four four-wicket hauls to his name.

This season of PSL is different because it has been shifted from its usual February-March slot. The change was made due to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Because of this change, some fear that the viewership of PSL might be affected.

Hasan himself admitted that the performance of the national team has a big impact on the PSL. He said, “When the national team doesn’t perform well, it impacts franchise leagues like the PSL. But when Pakistan do well, the PSL’s graph also rises.”

Many fans and experts believe Hasan’s comment comparing PSL and IPL is too bold. The IPL is one of the biggest cricket leagues in the world, with top international stars and a massive global audience. Still, Hasan’s confidence shows how much the players believe in their league and want to make it better.
