Pakistan Pacer Mohammad Amir to Play for RCB in IPL 2026? Here’s How!

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir hopes to play in IPL 2026 and wants to join RCB—here’s how it could happen.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir wants to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He hopes to get this chance in 2026. Amir is trying to get a British passport because his wife is from the UK. If he gets the passport, he can put his name in the IPL auction list.

Pakistan players have not played in the IPL since the 2008 season. This happened after the Mumbai terror attacks. Amir is hopeful that by next year, he will be eligible to play. He also revealed that he would love to represent Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). If this happens, he will join Virat Kohli in the team.

“By next year, I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL. If given the chance, why not? I will play in the IPL,” Amir said on the show “Haarna Mana Hai.”

He also said, “RCB is my favorite IPL team. I would like to play for RCB.”

Amir Praises Virat Kohli

Amir praised Virat Kohli and called him a great player. He said that Kohli respects talented cricketers. Amir also shared a special memory with Kohli. He recalled how Kohli once gifted him a bat, which made him very happy.

“Virat is great and admires talent,” Amir said.

“Virat gifted me his bat, and I was overwhelmed by his action. I have always admired his batting, and he admires my bowling. I even played some good knocks with his bat.”

RCB Needs a Bowler Like Amir

Ahmed Shehzad, who was also on the show, said that RCB should sign Amir. He believes Amir can solve their bowling problems.

“RCB needs a bowler like Amir to fix their bowling issues. Their batting is strong, but bowling has always been a problem. If Amir plays for RCB, they will win the title,” Shehzad said.

If Amir gets a British passport, he might enter the IPL 2026 auction. It will be interesting to see if RCB picks him.
