PBKS vs KKR: Why Marcus Stoinis Is Not Playing Today’s IPL 2025 Match?
Marcus Stoinis had been dropped from Punjab Kings playing XI.

The 31st match of IPL 2025 is happening at the newly built stadium in Chandigarh, where Punjab Kings are facing Kolkata Knight Riders. Shreyas Iyer, captain of PBKS, won the toss and chose to bowl first.
However, fans were surprised to see that Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was not part of the playing XI. No official reason was shared by the franchise or the captain regarding Stoinis’ absence, which has left many fans curious and concerned.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings made two big changes. With Lockie Ferguson already ruled out of the tournament due to injury, PBKS handed debuts to two overseas players – wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis and pacer Xavier Bartlett. These inclusions reshaped the team’s balance as Punjab looked for fresh energy to bounce back in the tournament.
On the other side, Kolkata Knight Riders also made one change. South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje replaced Moeen Ali in the starting XI, adding pace firepower to KKR’s bowling unit.
