Rahmanullah Gurbaz Penalized for Misconduct in SL vs AFG 3rd T20I

Rahmaullah Gurbaz has been penalised by ICC due to misconduct

Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz received penalties, including a 15 percent fine of his match fee for not complying with an umpire’s directive during the match. This marked Gurbaz’s second violation within a 24-month span, resulting in an extra demerit point, bringing his total to two.

Rahmanullah was found to have breached Article 2.4 of the Code, which stated “Disobeying an Umpire’s instruction during an International Match.”

The accusations were pressed by the on-field umpires Lyndon Hannibal and Raveendra Wimalasiri, along with third umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge and fourth umpire Ranmore Martinez.

According to the ICC Code of Conduct, Level 2 violations result in penalties ranging from 50 to 100 percent of the player’s match fee and three or four demerit points, while Level 1 breaches incur an official reprimand, fines of up to 50 percent of the player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
