Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz has rated Virat Kohli’s cover drive higher than Babar Azam’s.
Although Virat Kohli still holds the title for the most accomplished batter in the current era, the former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has risen to prominence in the last couple of years.
In a recent Q&A on ESPNcricinfo, Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batter faced a tough choice between Kohli and Babar’s cover drives. After some thought, Gurbaz favoured the former Indian captain’s take on the iconic shot.
Gurbaz not only tackled the cover drive dilemma but also fielded some interesting questions. In a hypothetical T20 scenario requiring 30 runs off the last over, and given the choice between MS Dhoni and Rinku Singh, Gurbaz confidently backed the legendary Dhoni’s finishing prowess.
“I think you cant compare anyone with MS Dhoni and the finishing but Rinku is also better. I will go for MS Dhoni,” Gurbaz said.
Later, Gurbaz was asked to decide between football superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, to which he picked the Portuguese maestro Ronaldo without wasting any time.
