‘Remember The Game At Mohali?’ – Suresh Raina Trolls Pakistan Cricket Team Ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

Suresh Raina gave a fitting reply to a Pakistan journalist in his recent social media post.

The Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has recently been announced as the ambassador of the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, 2024.

Taking it to social media, a journalist from Pakistan tried to provoke Suresh Raina by tagging him in a post and stating that Shahid Afridi has been announced as the ambassador of the T20 World Cup 2024.

In response, Suresh Raina gave a fitting reply to the journalist, reminding him that although he has not been announced as the ambassador of the T20 World Cup, 2024, he has a 2011 World Cup trophy in his home.

Notably, Team India beat Pakistan at Mohali in the 2011 50-over World Cup to make it to the finals of the tournament, where they went on to beat Sri Lanka to lift the trophy. This was also the last 50-over World Cup trophy for India.

Raina’s post reads:

“I’m not an ICC ambassador, but I have the 2011 World Cup at my house. Remember the game at Mohali? Hope it brings back some unforgettable memories for you.”

The T20 World Cup 2024 kicks off on June 1st, with 20 teams vying for the coveted trophy. While Raina might not have an official ambassadorial role, his playful dig and the weight of the 2011 World Cup victory are sure to spark some good-natured rivalry as the tournament approaches.
