Rift Between KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran? LSG Vice-Captain Shares Cryptic Post on Instagram

Nicholas Pooran has shared a story praising Naveen-Ul-Haq, but with a cryptic caption.

West Indies wicket-keeper batter Nicolas Pooran has seemingly taken a dig at his Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul following Naveen-Ul-Haq’s match-winning performance against Australia in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

In the recent Super 8 encounter against Australia, Afghanistan‘s Naveen-Ul-Haq emerged as the star bowler, taking three wickets and maintaining an economy rate of only five in his four overs spell as Afghanistan won the match by 21 runs.

Nicolas Pooran, the vice-captain of the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League, shared a picture of Naveen Ul Haq on his Instagram story with the caption, ‘You did say if you get the new ball you will do that.’

Naveen-Ul-Haq, known for his clever wicket-taking ability with the new ball in the first few overs, is believed to have requested this role while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, but he rarely gets the opportunity there.

KL Rahul, as the captain of LSG, missed a strategic move in IPL 2024 by not assigning the new ball to Naveen-Ul-Haq, especially given the bowler’s known effectiveness in such situations. Pooran’s story is believed to be a dig at Rahul for the same reason.
