Rohit, Kohli & Rahul Rested As BCCI Announces Squad For New Zealand and Bangladesh Tour
BCCI announced Team India's squad for the upcoming tours of New Zealand & Bangladesh
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, October 31 announced the squad for the white-ball series against New Zealand and the One Day International (ODI) and Test squad for the Bangladesh tour.
After the conclusion of the ongoing T20 World Cup, the focus shifts to the 50-Overs format, keeping in mind the next One Day International (ODI) World Cup, which is slated to be played in India next year.
For the New Zealand tour, India’s regular white-ball skipper Rohit Sharma, his predecessor Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested with Hardik Pandya being the captain of the T20I team and Rishabh Pant being his deputy.
In the One Day Internationals (ODIs), senior batter Shikhar Dhawan has been named the captain while Rishabh Pant will be the vice-captain.
For the Bangladesh tour, all three senior batters, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul return to the squad with Sharma taking up his captaincy again while KL Rahul being the vice-captain.
