Indian captain Rohit Sharma was adjudged Player of The Match for his crucial 87 runs innings off 101 deliveries in IND vs ENG CWC 2023 Clash

Team India registered a comprehensive 100-run victory over England on Sunday, October 29, at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium, marking their sixth consecutive win of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, was the mastermind behind this win, crafting a superb knock of 87 runs from 101 balls, elevating the team’s total to 229 runs in their allotted 50 overs, especially when the other Indian batters failed to step up.

Later on, the experienced duo of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah turned up the heat, grabbing four wickets and three wickets, respectively, which sent England packing for a meager 129 runs. And to top it off, Kuldeep Yadav grabbed two wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja snagged one.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s outstanding batting display secured him the Man of the Match award, making him the first Indian captain to achieve this feat against England in the history of the ODI World Cup.

India, having won all the six matches they played so far in the tournament, will next face Sri Lanka on November 2 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
