Rohit Sharma Bursts into Laughter When Asked About Virat Kohli’s Strike Rate in T20 Cricket
Virat Kohli has been under criticism for his strike-rate in the ongoing IPL 2024.
Indian cricket team has recently unveiled its 15-member lineup for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, set to be cohosted by the USA and West Indies in June.
Following the squad announcement, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar held a press conference, and took on a plethora of questions.
Among the various questions, one particularly interesting query was about Virat Kohli‘s strike rate and the ongoing criticism surrounding it in the ongoing IPL 2024.
Upon hearing this question from a journalist, Indian captain Rohit Sharma couldn’t help but burst into laughter, before chief selector Ajit Agarkar responded, stating that there’s no discussion about Kohli’s strike rate, and he’s performing exceptionally well in IPL 2024.
Here’s what Ajit Agarkar said in the press-conference:
“We haven’t been discussing Virat Kohli’s strike rate at all. He has been performing really well in the IPL, no point overthinking.”
Virat Kohli has scored 500 runs in 10 matches in the ongoing IPL 2024 at a strike rate of 142 and an average of 71. However, now and then he remains under scrutiny because of his strike rate.
