RR vs CSK: Why Sam Curran Is Not Playing Today’s IPL 2025 Match?

Chennai Super Kings dropped Sam Curran from their playing XI against Rajasthan Royals, bringing in Jamie Overton to strengthen their bowling attack.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made a surprising change to their playing XI for their IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati.

Star all-rounder Sam Curran was left out of the team as CSK opted for a different combination. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl first, making a tactical adjustment to strengthen their bowling attack.

Instead of Curran, CSK included English all-rounder Jamie Overton in the playing XI. Overton, known for his pace and ability to contribute with the bat, was brought in to give CSK an extra edge with the ball.

While Curran has been a key player for CSK in previous seasons, the team management decided to make this change based on match conditions and team balance.

CSK’s decision to leave out Curran could be due to his recent form or the need for an additional fast-bowling option against Rajasthan Royals.
