RR vs KKR: Which IPL Team Signed 13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi & Why Is He Not Playing?
13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was signed by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2025, but he is yet to make his debut as the team is focusing on his development.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the sixth match of IPL 2025, with both teams looking for their first win of the season. KKR won the toss and opted to bowl first. While Moeen Ali has replaced Sunil Narine in KKR’s lineup, RR have brought in Wanindu Hasaranga in place of Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, one name that remains absent from the playing XI is 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Lack of Experience Keeping Vaibhav Suryavanshi Out
The young batter from Bihar, known for his aggressive stroke play, was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore. Despite his talent, he has not yet been included in the playing XI. His natural position is at the top of the order, where RR already have established players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson.
Could Vaibhav Suryavanshi Feature As An Impact Player?
There is a possibility that he could be slotted in at No. 3 as an Impact Player, but for now, RR seem focused on grooming him for the future. While his potential is undeniable, he still lacks experience at the highest level. Unless injuries or drastic loss of form force changes, it may take time before he gets his debut in IPL 2025.
For now, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will have to wait for his opportunity, but RR fans will be eager to see how the youngster develops in the coming seasons.
