The inaugural edition of Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) premier T20 tournament, SA20, is all set to get underway on January 10 with the final of the competition set to be played on February 11.
The first edition of the much-hyped SA20 will see a total of six teams, owned by IPL owners – Durban’s Super Giants, Jo’burg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape, locking horns across six venues.
A plethora of T20 stars will be seen in action during the tournament. All six franchises have assembled their squads at the player auction, held last year. Each team will be allowed to field four overseas players in their side.
All the six teams have named their captain ahead of the commencement of the tournament. While Quinton de Kock will lead Durban Super Giants, Faf du Plessis, and Rashid Khan will shoulder the captaincy duties for Jo’burg Super Kings and MI Cape Town.
