Shoriful Islam has suffered a serious finger injury against India in warm-up match.
Bangladesh pace bowler Shoriful Islam suffered a finger injury during the team’s warm-up match against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday.
Bangladesh Cricket Board chief physician Debashis Chowdhury reported that Shoriful sustained a split injury between his index and middle finger on his left hand while bowling the final over of the innings.

The injury occurred when he attempted to stop a powerful drive from Indian batter Hardik Pandya. The team’s physiotherapist, Bayjedul Islam Khan, immediately rushed him off the field after noticing his discomfort.
“Shoriful required six stitches after the initial medical assessment. He was then taken to Nassau University Medical Centre for further evaluation,” informed Chowdhury as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. “We will re-evaluate him in two days’ time to determine the recovery timeline for his return to the playing field.”
