Shreyas Iyer And Ishan Kishan Kicked Out from BCCI Central Contract
Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have been excluded from the BCCI central contract for 2023-24
In a notable turn of events, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have been omitted from the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) central contract. This decision comes after they defied BCCI directives by opting out of the required Ranji games.
Notably, since Ishan Kishan returned to India from the tour of South Africa midway, he hasn’t been selected for any series with India, sparking speculation of a rift between him and the Indian management.
Despite repeated requests from BCCI to participate in Ranji games, he has chosen to focus on preparations for IPL 2024. Similarly, Shreyas Iyer faced a similar situation, being axed from the Indian team mid-series during the ongoing test series against England.
The Mumbai batter was advised to participate in Ranji games to earn a recall to the national side, but he opted not to take part in any of these matches. Now there have been reports that he will play the final Ranji game for Mumbai.
