Shubman Gill Becomes First Indian Player to Reach 100 IPL Matches Before 25
Shubman Gill is the youngest Indian player to complete 100 IPL matches.
Gujarat Titans’ Captain Shubman Gill has added another feather to his cap as he played his 100th IPL game. The young cricketer achieved this milestone when he went out for the toss during the recent IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
With this, he has joined the elite group of players who have already achieved this milestone. In the past, players who have played a hundred or more IPL matches include Steve Smith, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Gautam Gambhir, Lasith Malinga, and more. MS Dhoni tops this list with 258 IPL matches to his name.
The Punjab batter also became the first Indian player to play 100 IPL matches before turning 25. Shubman Gill was also honoured with a special memento ahead of the game. As for the match, Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first.
