SRH vs LSG: Shardul Thakur Destroys SRH’s Top Order, Sends Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan Back in Two Balls
Shardul Thakur turned the game in LSG’s favor by dismissing Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in consecutive balls, putting SRH under early pressure.

Shardul Thakur, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, was later picked as a replacement for Mohsin Khan by Lucknow Super Giants. He made an immediate impact and proved his worth from the very first match.
In LSG’s first game against Delhi Capitals, Shardul Thakur picked up two back-to-back wickets in his first over. Now, in the second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he once again showed his brilliance by dismissing Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan on consecutive balls.
Thakur was brought into the attack in his second over, and he struck immediately on the first ball. He bowled a short delivery, and Abhishek Sharma attempted a pull shot. The ball went towards deep square leg, where Nicholas Pooran moved to his right and took a comfortable catch. Abhishek Sharma scored six runs off six balls before getting dismissed. This was a big blow for SRH, as they lost a dangerous batter early in the innings.
Without giving SRH a chance to recover, Thakur bowled again and removed Ishan Kishan on the very next ball. The delivery was down the leg side, and Ishan Kishan tried to glance it away. The ball took an edge and went straight into the hands of Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. Ishan Kishan, who had scored a century in the last match, got out for a golden duck. It was not a great ball, but Thakur got lucky, and LSG celebrated another big wicket.
Shardul Thakur’s double strike put Sunrisers Hyderabad under pressure early in the match. After losing two top batters in two balls, SRH needed their middle order to step up. Thakur had already played a crucial role in LSG’s first match, and he has done it again against SRH. His performance proves why LSG made the right decision by bringing him in as a replacement.
