Stale Food Allegedly Served at Chinnaswamy Stadium, FIR Lodged Against KSCA

FIR filed over food poisoning at M Chinnaswamy Stadium during IPL match between RCB and DC

A 23-year-old cricket fan, Chaitanya, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) management alleging food poisoning after consuming food at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals on May 12th.

Chaitanya, who was seated in the Qatar Airways Fans Terrace stand, reportedly purchased ghee rice, channa masala, a cutlet, raita, and a dry jamoon from the stadium canteen.

Shortly after consuming the food, Chaitanya experienced severe stomach pain and later collapsed.

With the help of stadium staff, he received first aid treatment in an ambulance stationed outside the stadium. Following the incident, Chaitanya was admitted to a private hospital where doctors confirmed he had food poisoning.

Believing the stadium food to be the cause of his illness, Chaitanya filed an FIR at the Cubbon Park police station against both the KSCA management and the canteen manager.

This incident raises concerns about food safety standards at major sporting venues. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
