T20 World Cup 2024: ‘We Will Beat India’ – Ireland Coach’s Bold Claim

Ireland coach Gary Wilson is confident of his team’s win over India.

Ireland’s batting coach, Gary Wilson, is confident ahead of their T20 World Cup 2024 opener against India on June 5th at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York.

Gary Wilson is very well aware of the fire power that India carries in its batting line-up as well as their bowling attack, but he believes an upset is very much on the cards if Ireland plays to their full potential.

“Yeah, they’re (Indian team) a team we know a lot about. There’s a lot of data on them. They play lots of games around the world. They are all very good players, that’s the bottom line. We have very good players as well, We are going in to win the game and we believe we can do that if we turn up and play our best cricket on the day,” Wilson was quoted as saying by Rediff.com.

Wilson also revealed that their team analyst has churned out some detailed data of team India ahead of their crucial encounter, which is set to be played at a challenging pitch of New York.

Ireland’s recent win against Pakistan provides a much-needed confidence boost. However, toppling a tournament favourite like India will require a herculean effort.
