T20 World Cup: Cameron Green Announced As Josh Inglis’ Replacement in the Australia Squad
Cameron Green joins Australia's T20 World Cup 2022 squad as Josh Inglis' replacement.

In the latest turn of events, all-rounder Cameron Green replaced Josh Inglis in the Australia squad for the T20 World Cup on Thursday (October 20) after the wicketkeeper-batter was ruled out of the showpiece event due to an injury he sustained while playing golf.
“An incredibly freak accident. As he made contact with the ground, the shaft snapped around the grip area and cut into (the) palm of his right hand,” Australia coach Andrew McDonald told the SEN radio network Thursday.
Green recently made his T20I debut for Australia and impressed one and all with his all-around performances for the Men in Yellow. In a total of seven T20Is he played so far, Green has accumulated 136 runs in seven matches at an average of 19.43 and a strike rate of 174.36.
Green can also bowl medium pace and has scalped five wickets in six T20I innings at an average of 33 and an economy of 9.17.
Australia recently lost a T20I series against India in India, after which they outclassed West Indies 2-0 in another T20I series, but suffered a humiliating series loss against England in the lead-up to World Cup 2022.
The reigning T20 World champions also lost their warm-up game against India by six runs. They will kick off their tournament campaign against New Zealand on Saturday, October 23 at Sydney Cricket Ground.
