Twitter Hails KL Rahul For His Excellent Knock Of Test Comeback
KL Rahul scored 84 runs before being dismissed by James Anderson.
KL Rahul, on Friday proved why he is still number one opener for team India. The Karnataka-born, who was playing Test cricket after almost 2 years, announced his comeback in the longest format of the game with a bang.
On a field, where players from both England and India were struggling with the bat, KL Rahul smoothly smashed 84 off 214 deliveries, winning the hearts of his fans and cricket pundits.
After India’s pace attack bundled England out for just 183 on the first day of the cricket, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma took charge of the team and gave a perfect start to their side. However, after Sharma’s (36 off 107) dismissal, wickets kept falling from one side while Rahul was there in the middle witnessing this collapse.
India slipped from 97 for 0 to 112 for 4 in a blink of an eye, losing their main men. Later, Rishabh Pant joined Rahul as the right-handed batter went past his 12th half-century in Test cricket. This was also his first 50 plus score since scoring 149 against England at the Oval last time India went there in 2018.
The rain interrupted day 2 of the Test and the same was happening in the early hours of day 3. On Day 3 of the match, minutes after the day’s play started, players had to go off again for a break. Between all of this, it is obvious that a player can lose his concentration but KL Rahul looked determined as ever to make this opportunity count.
But James Anderson had the last laugh as he claimed Rahul’s wicket in the third over after lunch. Anderson pitched up the ball that straightened with the angle, forcing Rahul to only manage a thin edge through to the keeper. It was Anderson’s 620th wicket in his glorious Test career.
Here are some interesting reactions of KL Rahul fans on Twitter which will surely make you realise that KL Rahul indeed is the one of best in the business.
