West Indies spinner Rahkeem Cornwall took 9 wickets as the visitors went on to win a thrilling Test match in Dhaka on Sunday to seal the series 2-0.
West Indies spinner Rahkeem Cornwall picked 9 wickets as the visitors went on to win a nail-biting Test by 17 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur to seal the series 2-0.
The game was full of a thrill as 30 minutes were extended on Sunday as the visitors needed just 2 wickets and Bangladesh was 50 runs away from a historic win.
This is the first time in 65 years that all the wickets were taken by spinners for the Windies in a Test inning.
Rahkeem Cornwall picked up 4 wickets as Jomel Warrican and skipper Kraigg Brathwaite took 3 each in the second innings.
Meanwhile, former West Indies player Ian Bishop called this series win the ‘greatest achievements in recent years’ by the Windies.
“It surely has to rank as one of the greatest achievements in recent years for @windiescricket to win both test matches here in Bangladesh. Kraig Braithwaite was outstanding as a captain today. Well played gentlemen,” Ian Bishop tweeted after the match.
The West Indies made 409 and 117 runs in their two innings and Bangladesh was all out for 296 in their first innings. The tourists had won the first Test by three wickets. which was another thriller with debutant Kyle Mayers scoring a record-breaking fourth-inning double century.
