Virat Kohli Parts Ways With Puma After 8 Years; Set to Join Agilitas Sports As Brand Ambassador
Virat Kohli is set to part ways with Puma after 8 years.
In a significant move, Virat Kohli, the star batter from India, is parting ways with Puma India after an 8-year stint to embark on a new journey with Agilitas Sports, as reported by CNBC TV18.
Agilitas Sports, founded by former Puma India MD Abhishek Ganguly, is set to welcome Virat Kohli as its latest brand ambassador, with Kohli not only endorsing their products but also acquiring stakes in the company.
Agilitas Sports, founded by Abhishek Ganguly in May 2023, has experienced rapid expansion within a short span. Its recent acquisition of ₹100 crore funding from Nexus Venture highlights its burgeoning presence in the sports sector.
Virat Kohli joining Agilitas Sports means it will end a long-standing association between the Delhi batter and Puma, which began in 2017 with a ₹110 crore deal.
“It’s a privilege to be part of a great list of athletes that Puma has. Not just today’s icons like Usain Bolt but also the brand’s rich history with Pele, Maradona, Thierry Henry, and others,” Virat Kohli said after signing the deal with Puma in February 2017.
