VVS Laxman Set to Take Over as India’s Head Coach as Rahul Dravid Exits
VVS Laxman is likely to be India's next head coach.
Rahul Dravid, concluding his term as the Indian head coach with the end of the ODI World Cup 2023, shows no interest in renewing his agreement.
According to various reports, VVS Laxman is in line to be appointed as the next head coach of Team India. He is currently at the helm, coaching the Suryakumar Yadav-led India in the ongoing T20 series against Australia.
After India’s campaign ended prematurely in the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2021, Dravid—who had previously led the NCA—was named head coach of the team.
Under Dravid’s captaincy, India made it to the finals of both the ODI World Cup and the ICC World Test Championship, experiencing defeats to Australia on both occasions. In the T20 World Cup last year, they succumbed to eventual champions England in the semi-finals.
